I am approaching my intended retirement date, what do I need to do?

You will need to complete a ‘Notification of Retirement and Leaving Service Form’ (available on HAWK) and submit this to your line manager. Once this has been passed to HR they will notify Capita, the Scheme Administrator, of your intention to retire. Capita will then contact you directly. 

You should provide as much notice as possible of your intention to retire, preferably 6 months if this is possible. This will allow time for your pension to be processed and retirement choices to be made. Failure to provide adequate notification could result in a delay to your pension being paid.
